Naturally, after making my own cloth diapers, I had to make wipes. So taking the same flannels that I used
for the diapers, I cut the left over fabric into 8 inch squares for wipes. Until I started making and selling
wipes, I had only made and used flannel wipes.
Some of the products I offer for sale include standard 8 inch square wipes in flannel/flannel, flannel/velour, velour/velour, flannel/sherpa as well as custom wipes using whatever fabric I can acquire. I also make travel size wipes in 5 inch by 7 inch size in many of the same fabrics I make the larger wipes from.
All of the wipes I make are dual layer. I take 2 pieces of fabric and sew them together. This way, you get
a nice sturdy wipe with the soft side of the fabric on both sides of the wipe.
In addition to the wipes, I have also made diaper doublers made from hemp and embellished prefolds (with a decorative panel sewn on).
The fabrics I use in the wipes that I sell are as follows:
Flannel: 100% cotton flannel
Velour: 80% cotton/20% polyester velour, typically of a medium weight, 11 to 12 oz.
per yard. This is a relatively heavy velour and will hold up well to many washings!
Sherpa: 91% cotton/9% polyester
Knits: generally 100% cotton but some likely have spandex as well

Here's an article on one of my retailers, Diaper Lab, as seen in the Boston Globe on Dec. 11, 2008. Notice the wipes she's holding in the picture used in the article! If the link does not work, please email me and I'll send you the article.

I use premium fabrics in all of my wipes. The stitching is very tight and consistent, creating high quality
wipes that will last a long time.
These are some of the wipes I offer in my store. These are flannel print fabric on the front and
cotton velour fabric on the back.
These are some of the other wipes I offer in my store. These are cotton velour fabric on both sides.

These are some of the original wipes I made for myself. Most of these prints are no longer available.
